A colossal meteorite violently crashed into Mexico sixty-five million years ago to cause a biological upheaval that wreaked absolute havoc on the dinosaurs and ushered in a new, safe era for small animals. This fabulous series for kids closely looks at the intense competition across the animal kingdom to find out who would rule the Earth next. Mountains were displaced by landslides, gales and tidal disturbances devastated roots, land was engulfed in fire and then temperatures hit rock-bottom to freeze planet Earth for an age. All this resulted in the disappearance of more than 70% of the world's species and this new world lay open for conquest? Each of these short films throws the spotlight on a group that survived, as we meet many of the species who found opportunity in those tumultuous times. While a few of them evaded the catastrophe, like plants who spread their seed into outer space, others, like crocodiles took measures in advance to give birth to a battalion of females.
